Bitcoin Core Developer Sjors Provoost: Bitcoin Core The Project
While at the MIT Bitcoin Expo last month I had the ability to take a seat with Bitcoin Core developer Sjors Provoost.
Sjors is a physicist turned Bitcoin developer, which think it or not is really a quite typical phenomenon. He started adding to Bitcoin Core in 2017, an extremely rough time throughout which the activation of Segregated Witness was playing out in the conclusion of the block size wars with the User Activated Softfork and the New York Agreement.
He is also the co-host of Bitcoin, Explained, a podcast made with Aaron van Wirdum, the existing Editor in Chief of Bitcoin Magazine. Most just recently he has also composed the book Bitcoin: A Work In Progress, describing technical elements of Bitcoin. Each chapter couple with an episode of the podcast.
We discussed the Bitcoin Core project itself. How it’s arranged, what it’s like to deal with, and a few of the obstacles that can turn up for those who take the leap into contributing straight to the Bitcoin Core itself.
