Prominent figure in the bitcoin community, Adam Back, has contributed €7.6 million (approximately $8.8 million) to Capital B, a company listed on Euronext Growth that positions itself as Europe’s pioneering bitcoin treasury company.

The investment is designated for the acquisition of additional bitcoin assets. Adam Back serves as the CEO of Blockstream, a leading bitcoin infrastructure firm, and is recognized as one of the most influential personalities in the cryptocurrency sector.

This announcement by Capital B follows a recent capital raise of €21 million ($24 million) through a private placement, which received backing from both Adam Back and asset management firm TOBAM.

According to a statement from the company, “The proceeds of the Private Placement will be used primarily to strengthen Capital B’s balance sheet through the accumulation of bitcoin as a long-term reserve asset.”

The statement further emphasized, “This capital increase is a key step in implementing the company’s Bitcoin Treasury Company strategy, which aims to increase the number of bitcoins per share on a fully diluted basis over time.”

Capital B intends to utilize the proceeds to acquire 376 additional bitcoins, enhancing its total potential holdings to 3,521 bitcoins from its current reserve of 3,145 coins.

As reported by Bitcoin Treasuries, Capital B ranks as the 26th largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury globally, currently holding 3,145 bitcoins, valued at $242 million based on the prevailing bitcoin price of $76,959.

The majority of Capital B’s position has been established through various fundraising initiatives undertaken during the first half of 2026.

In May, the company acquired 192 bitcoins for €13 million following the successful completion of three capital raises.

Capital B is actively working to bolster its bitcoin holdings as other treasury entities are also seeking to raise funds and expedite their acquisitions.

For instance, NYSE-listed AI-driven education firm Genius Group recently announced its intention to develop parallel AI and bitcoin treasuries with a combined target of $1.6 billion after liquidating its entire bitcoin reserves to settle an $8.5 million debt.

The bitcoin treasury framework has encountered challenges since the previous year’s downturn in the leading cryptocurrency’s market value.

Several organizations within this sector have been compelled to liquidate their holdings, including the largest corporate bitcoin holder, Nasdaq-listed Strategy.
