Recently, a miner utilizing FutureBit’s Apollo Solo system successfully discovered Bitcoin block 973,262, thereby claiming the complete reward of 3.154 BTC alongside fees from 2,477 transactions. Various blockchain explorers, such as mempool.space, attribute the discovery to “FutureBit Apollo Solo,” and the coinbase transaction features text acknowledging FutureBit and Apollo.

FutureBit announced this achievement on X, stating, “Gradually, then suddenly. We (the people) hit a Bitcoin block today. Bitcoin belongs in the hands of sovereign individuals. And we’re building to keep it there.” The company explained that a device from the Apollo series or a Solo Node employing its integrated solo pool was responsible for assembling the block template, processing the work, and subsequently submitting the completed block to the network. The public blockchain record does not specify the particular hardware or hashrate responsible for the successful hash, indicating that it could have originated from an Apollo BTC, Apollo II, Apollo III, or any compatible machines connected to a Solo Node, as per FutureBit’s account.

This achievement signifies at least the fourth block attributed to FutureBit Apollo Solo, with previous blocks including 867,760, 881,423, and 888,737. FutureBit has designed its Apollo hardware specifically for operators aiming to maintain a full Bitcoin node and mine independently from large commercial pools. The latest model, the Apollo III, is rated to achieve up to 18 TH/s in turbo mode, equipped with an integrated full node. Bitcoin Magazine previously highlighted the launch of the Apollo III in February 2026 and examined FutureBit’s approach to home mining in an article published in July 2025.

Solo mining, often likened to lottery mining due to the low probability of success relative to the reward, remains relatively uncommon given a current network hashrate hovering around 1,070–1,087 EH/s. A home-scale setup operating within the 10–18 TH/s range may expect to wait in excess of a century for a block under current difficulty levels; nevertheless, verified solo mining successes continue to emerge on-chain. An article entitled Why Bitcoin Lottery Mining Has Better Odds Than The Powerball analyzed the mathematics of these probabilities, contrasting the ongoing attempts to mine Bitcoin blocks with the less frequent draws of major lotteries.

The day following this achievement, another solo block was found via CKPool Solo, demonstrating that individual miners can still secure full rewards despite larger industrial pools producing the majority of blocks. For users employing FutureBit hardware, the company emphasizes that individual operators maintain control over both their node and the solo pool, thereby retaining the entire reward when a block is successfully mined. Solo mining also presents notable privacy advantages, and in certain jurisdictions, hardware and energy costs can be eligible for tax deductions.

The block discovered on October 26 serves as further affirmation of the viability of solo mining. Satoshi Nakamoto’s original design for Bitcoin envisioned full Bitcoin nodes capable of mining blocks, not solely validating and auditing the blockchain. Advances in hardware and mining optimizations subsequently led to the proliferation of mining pools, resulting in a highly competitive and industrial mining sector. The secondary effects of industrial Bitcoin mining, such as the consistent energy demand that can stabilize the electrical grid, have proven beneficial for regions like Texas.

Nonetheless, the aspiration to restore mining to residential settings and individual users endures, supported by companies like FutureBit, Bitaxe, and HeatBit, among others, which are innovating by converting heating appliances into Bitcoin miners or designing targeted hardware for home use.
