The Bitcoin treasury market commenced the week on a highly positive note, as Strategy and Strive publicly disclosed their acquisition of a total of 2,305 BTC for an impressive $182.7 million.

In a recent filing, Strategy reported that it had purchased 950 bitcoins for $75.7 million last week, marking its first purchase since August. Simultaneously, Strive acquired 1,355 BTC for $107.7 million.

This announcement coincides with a notable increase in Bitcoin’s price, which was recently recorded at $86,008 — representing a 6% rise within 24 hours, having briefly peaked at $86,282 earlier on Monday.

As the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, Strategy has also repurchased $174 million worth of its STRC perpetual preferred shares. The company has paused its acquisition activities this year in favor of stock buybacks and increasing cash reserves.

Interestingly, there have been instances where the organization has sold small portions of its Bitcoin holdings, despite the principled stance of its founder and chairman, Michael Saylor, who has famously advised to “never sell your bitcoin.”

After a 10-week period of inactivity, Strategy resumed its Bitcoin purchases in the final week of August, amassing nearly $370 million worth of the leading cryptocurrency.

The company’s Bitcoin holdings currently amount to 846,000 coins, which, at present market valuations, are worth approximately $72.7 billion.

Strive has maintained a consistent acquisition strategy every week, solidifying its position among the top Bitcoin-holding companies. As of now, the Nasdaq-listed company ranks as the fifth largest corporate holder with 26,355 BTC valued at around $2.2 billion.

On Monday, shares of Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) were trading 8% higher, while Strive (NASDAQ: ASST) experienced a minor decline. However, it reached a share price above $30 on Friday, surpassing most of the targets set by Wall Street analysts.

The year 2026 has posed significant challenges for Bitcoin treasury companies, as organizations such as Strategy, Satsuma, Smarter Web Company, Sequans, Nakamoto, and Empery Digital have all liquidated Bitcoin holdings to address debts, fund operations, or finance stock buybacks. Some have even transitioned to AI infrastructure as their share prices faltered.

The recent surge in Bitcoin’s price occurred despite the blockage of key crypto legislation, known as the Clarity Act, last week, and a recent interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve, which investors appear to have largely disregarded.

Currently, Bitcoin’s price remains over 30% below its all-time high of $126,080, achieved in October.
